OMB Approves New Federal CCF

Guidance for using the 2017 federal custody and control form (CCF) for urine specimens

The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has approved the 2017 Federal custody and control form (CCF). The new form can be used effective August 8, 2017 for Federal employee testing.

The Department of Transportation (DOT) has not updated their guidelines to match the new Federal CCF. DOT regulated employers and their service agents (collectors, laboratories, Medical Review Officers) are to continue using the ‘old’ CCF until further notice from DOT’s Office of Drug and Alcohol Policy and Compliance. At this time, Alere will not be shipping out the new Federal form for DOT clients.
